Description
It is used in steelmaking as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer, degasser,
and alloying agent. As an alloy element incorporated into the steel
during the steelmaking process, it refines the grain structure,
fixes interstitial elements (C, N), and improves the strength of
the steel. The deoxidizing ability of titanium is much higher than
that of silicon and manganese, which can reduce steel ingot
segregation, improve the quality of the ingots, and increase the
yield of finished materials. Used as an alloying agent, it is a
main raw material for special steel. It an enhance he steel's
strength, corrosion esistance, and tability. It is widely used in
stainless steel, tool steel, etc., and can also mprove the
roperties of ast iron. It s used n the undry industry enhance e
wear resistance, stability, and machinability of cast iron.

Applications
1. Used in steelmaking as a cleansing agent for iron and steel. The
titanium is highly reactive with sulfur, carbon, oxygen, and
nitrogen, forming insoluble compounds and sequestering them in
slag, and is therefore used for deoxidizing, and sometimes for
desulfurization and denitrogenation.
2. In steelmaking, the addition of titanium yields metal with finer
grain structure.
3. Ferro Titanium powder can be used as a fuel in some pyrotechnic
compositions.
